Sentosa Island, looking at it today it is a very properous island & a popular tourist place of attractions.

However has it ever come across your mind on what was this place before it became Sentosa of today? Has it even been known to you that Sentosa is the new name of this little island?

Ancient Days

 

Too little was known about Sentosa before the 19th century. The real history of this island began somewhere during the 1800s onwards. before the 1800s, everything about this island was an island of mytery. It was just basically some mysterious, isolated, deserted & remote island.

This island came into the hands of many & several events took place in fact.

It was believed to had fallen into the hands of indonesian rule as one of their land once as well as the hands of many more others. Many of our enemies & neighbours during those ancient days had been going all out to conquer this island.

What was Sentosa?

 

Some said that this island was once an island of the dead with several graveyards & cemetaries. But there are also records of the place to be some village or so called kampongs of the malays or the Bugis or some Indonesians have settled here initially.

However, the inhabitants was not able to stay in this island peacefully. During the 1700s era & those days where the pirates rule the seas & waters, this island was the lair of the Pirates! It was very likely that there could have been some epic or legendary battles between the local inhabitants & the pirates that might had taken place in which in the end the pirates won the fight & dominated island, thus making it their pirate lair & stronghold.

 

Pirate’s Treasure Island

 

 

Who knows? perhaps someday someone will discover some hidden treasures, gold & many valurables burried in this island. Perhaps it really is some treasure island ! After all as it was the lair of the Pirates. This place was once their home, the place where they would bring back their loots & store it here & many other pirates related activities taking place in or near this island.

 In the timeline of history of the past, this island has been some very impregnable fortress, basically.

Old name

 

The Old name for sentosa was

 

Pulau Blakang Mati which means Dead from behind in Malay. Don’t ask me why & any other details, this was simply just the name of this island back then. The name of Sentosa in malays means : peace and tranquillity.

Accounts Of Pulau Blakang Mati

 

There are some accounts on how this island got this name, probably. The below are some likely or perhaps possible reasons to how island got this name.

Story 1

 

An account to this ominous name was of vicious, guresome & brutal murder as well as piracy in the island’s past that attributed to the name of Pulau Blakang Mati !

Story 2

 

This island was the Material Paradise of warrior spirits buried at Pulau Brani & hence this island was named as Pulau Blakang Mati !

Story 3

 

An outbreak of disease on this island in the late 1840s in which almost all of the orginal Bugis settlers on the island was wiped out for good. This myterious disease was actually malaria being defined out in 1898.

It was Dr Robert Little, a British Coroner was who investigating the deaths that stumbled upon what was called as BLankang Mati Fever was actually caused by miasmastic fumes arising from decaying leaves and swampy water on the island. This event has leand to a controvery in the medical circles at that time being defined as malaria that is spread by the Anopheles mosquito. The government’s malaria research station was originally located there. Hence it was named as Pulau Blakang Mati !

Story 4

 

The last account was due to the lack of fertile soil on the hills of the island that lead to this name of Pulau Blakang Mati !

Sentosa During British Rule

The story did not end just like that, it still continues. Years later, during the 1800s Singapore became a British Colony. So what happened during that period of time?

 

 

 

This island was once a protected island as it is a passage way to Kepple harbour during the point of time in which Singapore was a settlement of the British colony. Initially there were few fortifications in the island until 1880s when rapid growth of the

harbour led to concern over the protection of coal stocks against enemy attack. The forts built on the island were Fort Siloso, Fort Serapong, Fort Connaught and the Mount Imbiah Battery.Years later during World War 2 (WW2), Fort Siloso was once used to be called sarang rimau (the

tiger’s den). There is however no explaination of orang laut of Kampong Kopit only knowing the place by the name of sarang rimau. It was somewhere in the 1930s, that the island was heavily fortified and a crucial component of Fortress Singapore, and the base of the Royal Artillery

Believing that the only way to invade Singapore is by the seas, The British placed big artillery guns on this island facing the south. The British were expecting a sea assault.However, the Japanese caught them by suprised & off guarded. The Japanese did not attack from the south but instead from the north! Indeed as it is, death from behind this name lifted up to it’s name.

Sentosa Prison Camp & Killing Fields

After the surrender of the Allied forces in

February 15, 1942, this island became Prison Camp! The Prisoners of War were being thrown into this island & it housed the prisoners of the British & Australian  captured by the Japanese of that time. During that Japanese Occupation, an operation took place which was the

Sook Ching Operation. However, suspected people & especially the chinese of anti-Japanese activities & often arbitrarily were being brutally & merciless killed. Many of were killed at the beach of Pulau Blakang Mati ! Pulau Blakang Mati was just one of those killing fields.

 1st SRRAAfter the Japanese uncontional surrender in 1945 & Singapore was returned back to the British rule, this island had became into the base of locally enlisted First Singapore Regiment of the Royal Artillery (1st SRRA) in 1947. Other locally enlisted men from Singapore were sent to the island for basic military training before being sent to other units of the British Army in Singapore

Catholic Retreat & Protestant Church House

 

1 decade later, the 1st SRRA was disbanded and its guns dismantled. The coast artillery was replaced with Gurkha infantry units, first the 2/7th Duke of Edinburgh’s own Gurkha Rifles and later the 2/10th Princess Mary’s own Gurkha Rifles. Fort Siloso and Fort Serapong became a Catholic retreat and a Protestant church house respectively. Fort Connaught was left in ruins.

Indonesia Attacks

 

In the early 1960s, during the Indonesian Confrontation, the 2/10th unit defended the island against Indonesian saboteurs. Whom diliberately wanted give problems to Singapore hindering & stopping our independence. They wanted very much to make Singapore to be part of Indonesia.

With the end of the Confrontation in 1966 and the withdrawal of the Gurkha units from the island, the British handed over Sentosa to the Singapore Armed Forces of the newly independent Government of Singapore in 1967.

Naval Base Sentosa

 

In 1967, Pulau Blakang Mati became the base for the Singapore Naval Volunteer Force, which relocated there from its old base at Telok Ayer Basin. The School of Maritime Training was also set up there, as was the first Naval Medical Centre.

Holiday Resort Sentosa

 

It was in the 1970s, the government decided to develop the island into a holiday resort for local visitors and tourists.

It was in the year of 1972 that this island was renamed as Sentosa which means peace and tranquillity in Malay, from a suggestion by the public. Sentosa Development Corporation was formed and incorporated on 1 September 1972 to oversee the development of the island & some S$420 million of private capital and another S$500 million of government funds have been invested to develop the island.

In the year of 1974 the Singapore Cable Car system was built, linking Sentosa to Mount Faber. Subsequently, series of attractions were being built on this island & opened for visitors. A causeway bridge was opened in 1992 connecting Sentosa to the mainland of Singapore.

The Sentosa Monorail system was opened in 1982 to transport visitors to various stations located around the island & on 16 March 2005, the monorail service was discontinued to make way for the new Sentosa Express, which commenced operations on 15 January 2007.

Attractions still continues even in the recent years. Some of it is the Casino & alot more.

Sentosa Geography

 

Where geography of this island is of concern, 70% of the island is covered with rain forest, the favorite dwelling place of monkeys, monitor lizards, peacocks and parrots. Sentosa is a good collection of a wide range of flora and fauna. This island used to be a place with several pineapples.

Email on Sentosa Ghost

 

Just today I had received some very typical forwarded email regarding on Sentosa.

Basically in the email it says that the Siloso beach & the deep waters of sentosa should be avoided during the night.

The story basically says that some very typical girl that just wanted to have some fun who went there & stay there till very late in night & who want to enjoy the breeze & moon, & to frolick in the sun and sea at the beach side of the island returned home with something additional.

Sentosa Water Ghosts

 

It was not just the sports bra tanline but a set of child’s handprints and one more on the shoulder, a bigger hand. There also finger nails marks as well.

When they went to a Chinese temple regarding on this matter, this was what that exactly happened. There was initally a Child water ghost that appeared trying to drag her into the waters & drown her so that she could replace her as the next water ghost & when this happens this child would then be able to recarninate.

However what happened was that this Child ghost’s attempt was unsuccessful somehow & in the end this child brough along an adult ghost to help & the outcome was also the same, Unsuccessful !

So why was it then that 2 ghosts combined together to drown 1 mere mortal girl was unsuccessful? Were they really that lousy?

Buddha Blessing & Protection

 

Actually, that was not the case, as the family were buddhist & they do their prayers often & frequently, the gods were actually blessing & protecting their daughter from harm & danger.

The water ghosts were drown ghosts at Siloso beach in the recent years, probably.

Hence the email suggested on avoiding the Siloso beach or staying away from deep waters late at night.

Haunted Island Sentosa

 

 

In fact, indeed it is true as well that there are haunted places in this island of sentosa & there are ghost stories in some places of sentosa too !

Several deaths had taken place in the past few centuries inside this island. It is not anything suprising that it is a haunted island.

But anyways need not too worry too much, over all to say, this island is not really that “Yin” The ” Yang ” elements is still more & stronger as this island is always filled with live humans with many activities on this island all day through out, 24hrs & 365days.

Singapore is China’s Example In Terms of Racial Harmony Success

 

 

 

In my own personal opinion, Singapore is a very good example for China to learn from in terms of Racial Harmony.

 

 

Singapore is just a very small nation & is only a dot on the map. We were once like many other nations a 3rd world country. But within the shortest duration to the history known to all humans so far, we have became into a 1st world country. Such short duration of 3rd world to 1st world is even shorter than USA, & our achievements over the years from 3rd world to 1st world till present has even surpass that of USA.

Singapore is number 1 for too many things in Aisa & the whole world in the 21st century of today & it really too many to list them all out. The amount of NUMBER 1(s) that we have got is the most that none other country can be compared to us. No matter how many NUMBER 1(s) they have, it is definately not as many as Singapore. Singapore has the highest amount of NUMBER 1(s) in the whole world.

 

 

However not all of the NUMBER 1(s) that we have got are all the good ones. There are also the bad ones as well that we are number 1 for as well.

The world of tomorrow is definately China for sure ! currently the world’s international language is English. However in the Future of tomorrow, it will be Chinese as the world’s international language. Currently the World’s Super power nation of the world is USA but again in the future of tomorrow it is be China again. However, that future is still somewhat & somehow near & far. Least as at currently it will still take some years to go before it can really happen. This is what I personal view, myself!

 

 

 

Ever Since the ending years of China’s Last dynasty, the Qing dynasty onwards, it just seems that being an Asian, having yellow skin & being a Chinese is the most disgraceful & shameful thing to be. Asians were always being looked down & stepped upon by the westerners. Many of them simply just wished that they won’t an Asian or Chinese. They would rather be a Japanese instead.

One Asian Super power in our recent history who has significantly show to the west the meanning of Asian power & bring pride back to the Asians who are Asians was the Japanese!

The Chinese was once called as the Sick Cat of the East or Paper Tiger!

Today China & the Chinese is no longer the same anymore!

 

 

North Korea would have long lost the war in the korean war if not for Chinese help who assited the north koreans to push back the Americans & the united nations all the way back into the south. In that war, the United Nations & the Americans were being taken by surpise & simply stood chance to counter at all. They were on their heels being pursued by the Chinese all the way & they were all the way retreating. In the end they simply couldn’t win the war & the peace talk came into the picture which resulted in a cease fire. Hence we can say that it was the Chinese who win this war for the North Koreans. The War was won by the Chinese on North Korea’s behalf.

 

 

During the Vietnam war, the neighbours Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos had joined forces to forced their french masters out of their own land through the means of guerilla tactics & warfare. By the way for your information, Guerilla warfare is their kind game in the first place. Their kngdoms & nations were being establish out of guerilla tactics & warfare. Many nations were defeated by them when being engaged in guerilla warfare & tactics. Their weakness is a full scale head on war. That is one war they can never ever win.

The French suffered a heavy defeat but however America back then ensured to the French that the war can be won. America called in her allies & the United nations into this war. The Communist from the north backed the Vietnamese at the same time.

The Chinese heavily supplied Vietnam with Ammunations, Food, & Very heavy Manpower! The Chinese soldiers from the north upon reaching Vietnam in the South would then change into Vietnamese uniform & continue with their own operations. The Real Vietnamese soldiers had their own operations & while the chinese had their own operation different from each other but however providing support to one another at the same time.

The Chinese did not just send soldiers just that 1 time & that’s it. Reinforcements keep flowing in from the north into Vietnam many times.

None of the enemies knew that the Chinese were helping them fight initially until 1 point of time they heard that the soldiers were speaking in Chinese & not Vietnamese.

 

 

There is an saying that, there is no war USA cannot win ! This is very true only because USA fight war with high & expensive technology as well as use of Super weapons. As long as there is a usage of High & expensive technological weapons & Usage of Super Weapons, Indeed , this saying is most true. Full Scale head on wars are the forth & strengths of the Americans but however gurellia tactics & warfare are the weakness of the americans. once being engaged into a non conventional warfare, It is the reverse way! There is no war that American can Win !

 

 

In the end, the Americans found themselves fighting a loosing war! A War simply impossible to Win & cannot be won! Hence they decided to give up & left the war.

This Vietnam war has the worst defeat in the American war history of their time. This war brought shame & disgrace to them. They had suffered a much greater lost than then french !

Although this victory of the vietnam war was not a 100% contribution & effort or factor of the Chinese helping the Vietnamese, but however China played a very big & major role in the Victory of this war.

What Does it means?

There is a Friend of mine who claims himself to be a Pro Trader in the Shares. What he tells me is that in the past Nobody would be bother to take a look into what is happen to the stocks & shares of China.

However, right now there is almost no one who does not look into the China’s Stocks & Shares. Everyone is concerned on what is happenning there, today!

So, What is this supposed to Imply? What does this signifies?

In the past again, people would speak of can China help herself up? Today people will speak of can China help all of us, up?

What does this again represents & signifies?

 

 

Looking into China of Today, she is no longer that sick cat or paper tiger ! She is an Awaken Dragon today & that this dragon will rise one day taking the lead !

China is a very difficult nation to governed ! There are many reasons to it, such as their land size, populations & enthnic groups.

Whenever a nation is big in size, strong in military & powerful in world political powers, there will be seperatist for sure. such seperatist would do their everything to seperate the nation to be smaller & weaker. they can through the means of conquest / colonization by another country on this particular country, helping states or regions to break free from the nation & claim independence on their own or creating of internal problems inside this particular nation.

It can be another nation’s doing or it could also be an organisation for instant terrorist activities when it comes to seperatist issues. These are all political problems. This is one thing no nation can escape! it will & it can happen to any nation.

China is also no exception ! In fact China is the common target of many seperatist ! Hence it is important that no seperatist can ever successed in seperating china !

The only thing that cannot be compared between Singapore & China when it comes to racial harmony success is on the issue of seperatist.

 

 

Looking into Singapore, we have the most number of enthic groups in the whole world. Almost any enthinic group that exisit in this world can be found in Singapore. No other country has a greater number of enthinc group than Singapore.

Singapore is a land of immigrants since the 19th century & even till today. Being a land of immigrant is one thing that will never ever change most probably.

In terms Languages, Race & Religion as well as nationalities, there is none that Singapore do not have. In fact the number of Mix blood people that we have is also the most in the whole world. Singapore is one place many mix blood people from around the world like stay in.

As compared to Mainland China, They only have 36 enthinc groups. what is their 56 as compared to ours which has already surpass them?

However the thing is that none of them has any problems with one another. We are all able to live in peace & harmony with one another.

 

 

This is however not the case for China. As far as concerned, as I try to understand about the China Chinese from those I know over the internet & those whom I know in real person or those whom I have communicated with be it that they are in China or in Singapore, they is something that I found in common about them.

Many of them know too little about the other enthnic groups of China or perhaps even none! Don’t be suprise that any other person who is not a China Chinese can even know more about their own other enthnic groups than them. Not all of them also have a good comfort level with the other enthnic groups living in China.

The Knowlede, understanding & comfort level with one another among the various enthnic groups in China is low or little or perhaps even not good. However, if you were to look at Singapore there is no such issue.

In terms of tolerance level & respect for the various enthnic groups no other nations in this world is more successful than Singapore ! Not even America ! Same goes to religion issues.

Singapore Success in terms of Racial & Religious Harmony is one thing that not just China has to learn from Singapore but America as well.

 

 

It is not that Singapore never had racial issue before. We once had. but it was well handled & taken care for good !

One of the things our current ruling government did was using HDB (Housing Development Board) or so called government houses as the solution to the races of Singapore. We are all mixed together.

Same like China, we used to have all the groups of the type of people in one common area during our British colonial master rule. The Indians will be in Little India, Chinese in Chinatown etc…..

But however it will result in the exact same problem as China. People will start to gain power, control, influences & many more within their own community & area until they become one too strong to deal with.

This is the same as China whereby all Tibetans can only be found in Tibet & none other places, all the Uyghurs can only be found in Xinjiang & none other places. When they are all isolated in the same common place who knows what they are up to?

They need to be mixed with the others & some of their population need to be dispersed into other parts of China to live with other enthnic groups. It can be the case the most of them are in that particular area but definately not all of them in one common area. when all are in one common area, grouping together & coming out with activities are easy for them. Your lives will be kept busy with the problems they are giving you.

This is the lesson Singapore has made & learnt ! Hence one of the solutions to this issue by Singapore is HDB ! China does not need to come out with HDB but can learn from us, Singapore & come out with their own version that best suits them.

 

 

Our ruling government pratices no special privilledges or treatment. If you have what it takes, you will have it ! Equality for all ! we always promote racial harmony campians & activities all the time. During Chinese new year, the chinese will invite their other friends to join them in their celebrations & like wise, when it come the festive season of the other races, they will all invite us to join them in their celebrations as well. Even the MP ( Member of Parliment) will also come out with activities to have all the various to get together for the various celebration of the different festivals of the different races.

 

 

The Han Chinese enthnic group says that much special priviledges has been given to the minorities enthnic groups. but the greatest problem & failure to it dispite so, these other minorities enthnic groups do not feel so. Hence it goes to show that campians, promotions & activities as well as education to the masses is still too insufficient to show to them on this point. As to feeling wise, the efforts & actions by the majorities & the autorities are not enough for them to feel this way, the way you want them to feel ! since not being to make them the way you want them to feel, they will just feel the way they think they should feel. One of the solution to make them feel the way you want to feel & not what they think they should feel is education or so called propoganda & again Singapore is the best example for China to learn

 

 

The next thing is that Singapore is land of 0% corruption ! Any other country has their own corruptions except for Singapore. We are the one & only nation in this whole world that is free from corruptions ! China however is among one of the world’s most corrupted nation.

How can the nation be rich & the citizen become rich when there is the pratice of corruptions? This is hence one of the reason why Singapore is richer than China & Singaporeans are richer than China nationals.

Our Singapore government has understand very clearly that corruption leads to the failure & downfall & weakning of a nation. It also slows down & causes more obstable to a nation progess ! Hence our Government did everything to make sure there is 0% corruption in our nation. Hence in this area wise, Singapore is NUMBER 1 in the whole world for being the cleanist nation that is free from corruption. Again Singapore is the best example not just for China but many other nations around the world to learn from our success.

 

 

In the usual case it is those poor people who will be the ones to cause Riots , strikes & protest !

For Singapore, there isn’t such a need at all.

Singapore creates much job opportunities as well as business opportunies. Singapore has been recently ranked number 1 for being best place for business opportunities.

Job & business opportunities are insufficent in China & the unemployment rate there is very high ! this hence explains the poor man problem. More has to be done in this area of aspect. Singapore was once a 3rd world nation & our people were once also very damn poor ! But how did we however became into who & what we are of today? This is again another area China should learn from Singapore’s success.

Another thing is how here in Singapore we deal with such issue of strikes, riots & protests !

Here in Singapore you need to go through legalised registered union or that you have to apply for licence to do so.

By saying that you need a licence to do protests, the procedure is something like this. first you need to register & pay admistration fees. You also need to provide the particulars of all who are participating as well as the reason for protest !

Followed, you will need wait for this licence to be approved before you can really do so. Upon approval, a venue will be provided to you. It is in a indoor area where you are surrounded by 4 walls around you. no outdoor protests is allowed in singapore. protests can only be done indoor.

Anyone who did not follow procedures & do anything else on their own will be considered as illegal protests. They had broke the law & will be thrown into jail. As long as procedures is being followed, your protests here is considered as legal protests.

Also another thing is the more than 5 people in a gathering will be taken into account as illegal gathering. exactly 5 people is ok but once there is 6, it will be illegal. police will go around dispersing the numbers once the number of any groups is becoming big or they will arrest them all & bring them back for questionning.

Under such suituation, how can any genuine illegal gathering or protest be possible?

This is one thing that person other nations can take in account of considerations of how to modify this same policy & implement it into their own country , like China.

 

 

No doubt China’s Land is big & has more population than Singapore. however, Singapore is the most Dense nation in the whole world.

By this, what I would mean would be something like this. For every 1 metre by 1 metre of land in Singapore there are 8 people but there is however perhaps just 3 people in China.

So why is that these 8 people never & don’t give problem to one another but that in China those 3 people already cannot torlerate each other?

This hence explains that land size & population number is not always the reason to racial issues.

This is hence one factor China should look & study into & to once again learn from our singapore’s success in this area of concern.

 

 

Next , our government has defined that a busy person gives no trouble & one who is free gives problem & troubles.

Therefore in our society, it is all about being busy. praticially to say no one has the time & energy to think about anything that will be deem by the government as problem givers or touble makers. It is being defined by singaporeans that those are people who are too free having nothing else better to do. we are too busy for those sort of things.

Once a person’s mind & daily lifehood is being ocupied with what you want them to be busy & occupied with, they give you no troubles & problems. But however once they are too free & unoccupied, they will be the one to keep you as the government to be busy & occupied with what they want you to be !

This is once again another thing that China has to learn from Singapore on how to keep her own people busy & occupied with what she wants them to be busy & occuiped with so that they will not keep her busy & occupied with what they want her to be !

 

 

Everyone all knows that China is a dragon & the people of China are decendents of the dragon ! as far as enthnic groups wise, it is important to make all people regardless of what they to feel that they are part of this dragon, that they are also the dragon’s decendents ! Singapore gave a common identity to all as ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE SINGAPORE !

we don’t see ourself as an individual but instead as one common kind which is known as Singaporeans. there is no such thing you & me but US !

China have to learn from Singapore on how we did it & how to make all people regardless of who & what they are as 1 China , 1 Dragon & most of all decendents of the Dragon !

 

 

If China does not lower her diginity as a big nation & come forth to seek & learn form a small nation like Singapore of our successes & trying to modify what they have learnt & to implement into their own country, Racial issues will still be very likely to continue !

This will even give more opportunities for seperatists to strike at them !

In my own person opinion, SINGAPORE IS CHINA’S SUCCESS FOR RACIAL HARMONY !

 Jurong Is the Future  

 Jurong is the future of Singapore ! This is a statement made by a minister before a long time ago. He was one of those early pioneers of our current PAP ruling government.

 

  

 During the very early days where singapore was still a 3rd world country & was very undeveloped, where alot of things were still very unstable & foreigners did not have confident & faith in investing in singapore, this minister told our Prime Minister Lee of that time which is our MM Lee of today this statement that Jurong is the future !

 

Jurong back then was one of the most remote & deserted areas of Singapore back then. The terrian of Jurong back then was full of swamps, & forests. There are too many muddy areas in this place & the because of the forests, it result in the place to be very foggy.

  

 Jurong had another name back then. This name was : Crocodile Paradise or so called Heaven of the Crocodiles.

 

This is actually very true as indeed Jurong was infested with crocodiles back then. there were too many crocodiles back then.

  

 In fact as to how the name of Jurong was being derived, there were too many sayings. Some said that this name derived from a malay word that was spelled out wrongly by the British & that this word means voracious  Sharks!

 

I am not too sure why or what does Sharks has to do with Jurong? Why & how come the malays would want to call Jurong as sharks?Other derivation was that it was a name of a chinese man but was spelled out wrongly by the British to be as JURONG

This minister was the one responsible to gave the directions to our PM Lee of that time that the first step & first thing to the development & furture of singapore lies in Jurong! However, sad to say, I have forgotten his name.Jurong is the beginning to the Singapore’s Future ! It all Starts from Jurong ! If you forget everything else you just need to remember just this one thing , which is , JURONG IS THE FUTURE ! Never Forget this !

The Future Began

Having say this, the government shifted into developing singapore starting from Jurong. Jurong is one of those most earliest places that the Singapore Government began to develop on.

They began to clear lands & forests. chansing away the crocodiles in this area. One of the most earliest industrial areas & factories in Singapore of that time was in Jurong.

However they soon discover that Jurong was too far from the those residential areas & many people were not willing to come to Jurong to work. The solution to this was HDB ! Hence one of the earliest HDB(s) to be built in Singapore was in Jurong !

The Place that I stay in, the HDB that I live was one of those most earliest HDB(s) to be built in Jurong.

Soring High & Fast !

Over the years, Singapore transformed tremendously. Foreigners came in to invest & develop our land. Many things all start to come in. Within a very short period of time. Singapore became what you see of today.

Basically to say, the duration we took to reach to the today of what we had is simply too short & fast & Quick! In the History of human race, Singapore is the first & only to have achieved this. No other nations in this world of human history can win singapore. Not even AMERICA! We took the shortest duration to reach the highest in too many things in history.

Probably no other nations or states of any leaders in the past has done this before us & probably none in the future can do the same acheivement as us as well.

Singapore is today WORLD NUMBER 1 for too many things. The lists of what we are WORLD NUMBER 1 for is simply too long to list out as there is too many. But not everything is world number 1 for the good things. some are good & some are bad.

Jurong Composition

Coming into today, as we talk about Jurong, What are the places which is part of Jurong?

Jurong in radom order comprises of : Jurong East, Jurong West, Jurong West Extention, Toh Guan, IBP ( International Business Park) Hong Kah, Boon Lay, Pionner, Taman Jurong, Teban Gardens, Jurong Port, Jurong Island, Jalan Bahar & Tuas. All of these are the main areas of Jurong.

 

Even untill today in which you already see that Singapore is so well developed & some may even consider Singapore as over developed, However, our current ruling government still considers Singapore as a nation in the process of developing. We are neither a under developed nation but we are also not a already developed nation or over developed nation. They still urge to foreigners to continue to invest & develop us this, developing nation. Even though & dispite of what most people see singapore as the otherwise opposite. In fact to say, every 6 months time is already sufficient to see changes in singapore. try imagine those who has not been in singapore for many years. By the time they are back, they are pratically not much of the difference with those tourists. They can no longer recognise Singapore anymore. Singapore is simply “BEYOND RECOGNITION” to them.

Today, our current ruling government still believes on this statement that Jurong is the Future ! This same old statment that was mentioned before once in the past. Our government still see Jurong to be Singapore future.

There are many factors involved to it & by the way, for your information our MM Lee is a strong believer of Feng Shui despite the fact that he was from an english school during his younger days. Where Feng Shui is of Concern, it has been said that the Feng Shui has been shifted to Jurong according to the masters. Once again into the statement that Singapore future to speak of is Jurong! This is one of the many reasons why Jurong is once again the point of concern of development.

Looking at Singapore, We are a land of immigrants! This is one fact that would probably never ever change. The foreigners despite from poor & under developed nations or from those rich & developed nations, all in common gave Singapore another name. This is a name that they, as foreigners in singapore called singapore as & not by our locals.

This another name is : Heaven On Earth or Human Paradise !

The common thing about Singapore is that it gave to them what their own country cannot give to them & even more. What their country can give , we can also give & even alot more than that to them. What their country cannot give to them, we can also give! For this reason therefore, they gave singapore this name.

For the Poor ones, after working in singapore for many years & saving much money here, they are able to return to thier own country to live as a lord or king in their own country or perhaps even set up their own business.

For the Rich, there is so much life to enjoy here. Life here in Singapore is too joyful to them. In terms of career prospects, & recognitions, singapore offer too much to them. In the end these group of people at all possible cost refused to return back to their own country. They want to stay in Singapore for good & for life !

Basically to say, there are 3 main groups of Singaporeans. The 1st group is the local born & locally living here. The 2nd group would be those who is Singaporean where citizenship is of concern but that they have been living in overseas for too long! The last group of Singaporeans would those who was previously a citizen of another nation but had changed their citizenship to become as a Singaporean.

Where Location is of concern, The North & the East of Singapore has more Singaporeans than foreigners. But however the West ( North West & South West) & the South ( Central , South & South Islands) of Singapore, there are more foreigners than Singaporeans.

Overall to say, the population of Singapore inside of Singapore are the minorities. the majorities are the foreigners.

Jurong where location is of concern is located in the west of Singapore. to be more precise it is the southwest !

How is Jurong the Future of Singapore in this 21st century? Basically this is how it is like. In this 21st century singapore is moving into the direction of centralization instead of the previously decentralization.

Hence all of those production & manufacturing as well as warehouses will be shifted into Jurong! To be more precise it is Tuas as the place there is too big & at the same time cheap. Hence in the future to come, the only place where all of the production & manufacturing factories as well as warehouses are located in will be in Jurong.

Next where all the seafood & fishery is of concern. The centralized point will be in Jurong Port!

Follwed, the next centralize place in which all chemical industry are located in will be in Jurong island.

All Food industry & factories will be located in Woodlands in the future & all distribution hubs will be located in Changi in the future.

Alone on this factor goes to show that Jurong will have even more job opportunies.

On top of this, In Jurong East, there is a big project going on known as the BIG BOX. Basically this building will be inclusive of everything.

Inside this building, there would be warehouses, offices, retail shops & many more. In this Jurong east area as well, there will be a hospital yet to be built as well as hotels in Jurong area.

Further to that, there will be more tourist attractions or so called places of interests coming up near the science centre & jurong area.

Condominums

Condominums are on the rise in Jurong area & you can easily get to see more & more condominiums in Jurong area & in which they are now being bought at fast rate, selling fast & hot!

The MRT that was extended from Boon Lay into Pioneer & Joo Koon is still not yet the end. There are still further deeper expansions as well plans to construct LRT from Boon Lay MRT.

 

There is also a Top School shifted over to Boon Lay. This school is River Valley High. It is the school as well as the hostel that is both being built in my Boon Lay area.

 Jurong Point Shopping MallThe Business at Jurong Point Shopping Mall is doing very well. They have already expanded 2 times & it is highly likely it will expand further after the air-con bus interchanged contruction has been completed. currently, the old bus interchange is in the process of upgrade into a air-con bus interchange with a shopping mall extention above it & above this shopping mall is a condominium. Once the air-con interchange is complete, the current temporary interchange will be demolished & it i likely to become a new extension of jurong point.

By then neither all the mall combine in Tampines area nor Vivo city would be big enough then Jurong Point. Jurong Point will be the Biggest shopping mall in Singapore. The number 1 largest & biggest shopping mall of Singapore.

One of the place that I can think of when you are mentioning about a 24hr shopping mall in Singapore would be mustafa which is located in little india. However if you look at Jurong Point, as time to come the next shopping mall which is open for 24hrs in 365 days will be Jurong Point for sure. Do drop by Jurong Point someday & take a good look at this place. As the saying says. Seeing is believing! & by the way, Believing is Convincing !

Another Big project going on will the Jurong Lake at Chinese garden area. One thing for you to know is that all of the drains & cannals in the entire Jurong are all linked into Jurong Lake. The Lake is actually very dirty.

That lake has been for several years rumoured that there is crocodile living in that area. Rumours also had it said that there are humans eaten by crocodile in that area when humans who go fishing or swimming or cannoeing in that area went missing or when any accident or mishaps happend.

There was once reported that a child fell into a drain in Boon Lay & as it was rainning & the current in the drain was strong, the child was being flushed into Jurong Lake & was strongly believed to be eaten by crocodile as the child was never ever to be found.

Divers, Marie Police & Navy went into Jurong lake hunting for the child but could not find him.

Now this Big project going on in that area will be that they want to transform this Jurong lake to be a place for water sports & games.

By this it would mean that they need to clean the water in the area & restructure the drainage & cannal system of the entire Jurong. They will also have to remove all those whatsoever crocodile etc… from that lake should this rumour turn out to be true!

Multi- Racial & Nationalities Jurong

What I can see now living in this area of Jurong for nearing to 3 decades is that the population of foreigners living in Jurong has also increased tremendously as compared to the past. At the same time the variety of nations & races that these foreigners are from are also on the increase.

In the Past Jurong is mainly just Singaporeans, Malaysians & Indonesians. However over the time Indian Nationals, Blanglesh, & Pakistani also arrived. Then towards to more recent time, Thai(s) , Myanmar people, & an enormous number of China Nationals have also flooded themselves into Jurong area. Currently right now, even Vietnamese, Filippinos & Caucacians as well as a few africans can also been found living in Jurong area too !

Jurong Of The Future

Our Government has ever once declare to us that Jurong will be the next future of Singapore & that they want to make Jurong the west version of Orchard & CBD.

In the years to come, the houses in Jurong will be very expensive. This is one thing for sure! Jurong will also become the next orchard road & CBD of Singapore, the so called Western Version.

On top of that, there are also more plans to make Jurong much more Greener with more parks etc…

There are also plans on how to link up the entire singapore as a cycling runway in which cyclist can actually cycle around the entire perimeter of Singapore.

Jurong is Defiantely Singapore Future !

Based on all these, How can Jurong not be the next future of Singapore?

Asian Breasts

Purely based on the descriptions from the above, I should believed that , in Asia as a general whole during the ancient days,Woman of those days traditionally, biologically & Historically have breasts small in size & that their shapes are of Breast #2 (Cherry) & Breast #3 (Round) & that their nipples are of Nipple #2 (Inverted) or Nipples#4 (Retracted)

21st century society

To my own personal view of the society that has been evolved in this 21st Century, I would say that the society of the 21st century is in certain point of aspects an absolute disappointment.

The society of today is very realistic, pratical, harsh, curel & inhuman! As a result of such, humans in the working world, in this working society has been transformed & evolved into selfish people. Alot of people knowingly or unknowingly become into bastards of this society we are living in.

 

Many things are very hard to point the finger at! In common, all of us just want to survive & to carry on living in this world. In this whole process of fighting for survival, humans simply change. Face It ! All humans do change in this world conciously or unconciously. It is only for the better or worst & at too many times this word of better or worst is too subjective & debative as in many scenerios it is of an individual case by case study & therefore it cannot be referred to all. There is no humans in this world through the process of our life cycle, time, age, experiences, exposures, knowledge & social network that did not end up being a changed person.

People tend to care & become too or perhaps over interested & concerned only about themselves over others & at many time at the expense of others! we just want to survive & would do anything including betraying our souls in certain cases just in order keep surviving.

Due to too many factors & evolution of what this 21st century has become of, humans are becoming inhumane, saddist, perverted, sick & bastard!

 

Society is something that does not shows any mercy to anyone. Nobody regardless how & what your suituation is & who or where you are, society shows no pity, symathy, care, concern & not ever mercy or love to anyone.

There is an very old saying. The world/society does not owe anyone anything or a living! It is we who owe this world/soceity !

The Chinese has an old saying 取之于社会用之于社会 which means whatever that you attain/gain from society, you must apply & implement it back to society! Whatever good that you have is from society & it is of every rights that it ought to be returned back to society. After all, you have society to thank for , for whatever that you have learnt & whatever goodness that you have.

For those who trully believe & praticed it, they would do things such as charity. However, is purly just doing charity certainly enough should a person is to be a pratictioner or believer of that saying? This certainly is very questionable, it cannot be that simple & straight forward. What would then it be in your own opinion?

 

Living in this world of today, the common thing that most people would have would be, if I show pity & love to others, who will show to me? how many can i give & share with? How am I suppose to know if this is of a genienue case? How can it be possible for me to help as I am limited after all ! I have my own things to worry about & I don’t have time for this ! Let someone else do the job! It is your own life not mine! If you want to blame, blame it on society ! It is not my fault, I am not to be blame, I am innocent !

Having too many people with such mindset or similiar mindset, how can this society & world that we are living not be one of such that is inhumane & unloving?

Better still, some may even think it the other way round in which they would ask you this question. ” If I were to help you, What do I stand to gain? Give me a good reason why should I help you?”

well, we cannot completely blame them with such mentality in a way. It is the soceity that has turned us all into such people in a way. Say anything you like, blame them, curse at them or ever swear at them but at the end of the story if you think deeper there is no point doing so anyways.

In order to survive, at many times we have become into people that is simply not us at all. If we don’t changed we simply cannot survive. This very similar to the old chinese saying of : 人在江湖身不由己 !

This saying bascially means that we as humans in this world, in order to survive, at many times we discover that our physical body do not belong our ownself at all! We are not always in full control of ourselves in every suituation.

Perhaps there is also some form of truth in this saying as well but only up to certain point of extend ! as to the remainning point of extend this saying may or may not neccessary applies!

 

The world of today is very self centre & competative ! we don’t have time to slow down once we are on this track & especially more when we are trying to catch up. Those who cannot follow up with the pace will left behind on their own to fend for themselves it is as simple as that. We are rather similiar to the animal kingdom in which the theory of only the fittest & best will survive! It does not matter how you reach the finishing point. Be it that you cheated or anysort as long as it is a method or technique or way or style that in which it can land you at the finishing point, you win ! There is no rules in this race!

As long as you Win, You Win ! we slowly discover that in this world at too many times we are just plainly too engorss in winning ! we simply do not care about anything eles! we just want to be number one ! everyone is fighting for this title for number one & to be best ! They will do everything regardless of the cost it takes & scrafices need to get it !

There will be times we might do things against our will & we don’t really have much of a choice not to do it !

This will be the question I should believe that many of us will get to hear at many times in our lifehood. The answer about the worth & value to it is actually none! It is worthless & valuless ! But because it is so, that is why it is priceless as no amount of money is ever suffient to buy it !

Can dignity, character, personality & principle earn me a living? give me money? power? status? etc….. can I get to have my 3 meals & a good place to stay & clothes to wear base on these? What exactly can I do with these?

The answer as to what exactly can I do with these would be actually nothing ! But however you are nothing without these !

But there are still people who don’t mind go and die or to forsake all those for what they want or perhaps there could just be another kind of story unknown to us even. Things are not always what it seems to be or that straight forward in every scenerio.

 

The grey areas of soceity that is neither black nor white of today is become more & more. Alot of thing s there is no clear cut left or right, front or back, top or bottom. It is in the middle!

Not everything is definately postive nor is it negative! It could be in the centre which is called as neutral!

In the 21st centry of today such grey, neutral and centre/middle things are actually alot more than those which is very clear cut left or right, black or white etc….

What will do or perhaps I should what have you ever done in this world & society in order to survive?

 

One thing we all need to know is that ” A Perfect World” or ” An Ideal World” can never ever exist this world & society that we are all living in. The answer is very straight forward to this ! This is because we are all simply HUMAN BEINGS at the end of the story !

A perfect world or an ideal world this world, I am certain many has tried but none ever successed.

Karl Marx the founder of communism. believes that communism is the solution! So what happen in the end & what is happenning today? I should believe you have the answer yourself.

World War 2! the leaders of this world war believe they can establish such a world but they failed as well. It is a world that they want & not the world that others want!

Some believed that religion is the solution & we have this thing called as Holly War in history ! Did this holly war solved everything? what is the results of this holly war? Answer this yourself!

So is democracy then the solution? What you do think history has show to us all so far taking America as an example to this question?

Be it an Ideal world or a Perfect World it can never ever exists! Humans are still Humans ! That is the reason as to why?

 

Especially in those town & city areas & those developed nations curelities of life is even more harsh, more mercless & more inhumane. Nobody would care about you! everyone cares for themselves only. The standard of living is high & expensive. The pace of Life is too fast ! Life over there is too pressurizing & stressful. It is very exhuasting & breathless living there but life still carries on. People still want to survive & do not want to become outcast or left behind. People are very self centered & selfish. They do not have the time for you. You will have to take care of your problems. People in those places are more complicated, sly & cunning!

As compared to people in those rural areas, villages, under developed nations or nations in the process of development, people in those places tend to be more simple. certain things they could be the opposite of people as what I have mention in the above paragraph.

But however certain things may still applies & still the same. What do you think of how their world & society is like? Take africa as an example. How many people are dying of hunger over there? How many killing of each other are there over there in which many stories over there I am also very uncertain how true is it? I do not know if I should believe or not believe?

These people are Poor & Hungry ! There are people who would do anything so as not be Poor & Hungry.

 

To make things worst, in this world of today, we are globalizing! we are not like in the past anymore in which we are all living in our own world each. There are the plus factors of globalizing as well as the minus factors as well.

Singapore is a very good example of a globalizing nation. Our society here is very global! Singapore is also very good example of being Number 1 ! there are too many things that Singapore is number 1 in this whole world that many big & powerful nations cannot even be compared with us, not even America ! Some of the things that we are number one are the good things but there are also some of which that are of the bad things in which we are also number one in this whole world.

Good & bad for some can be very subjective & personal perspection. The Government personnels in Singapore has world highest salary. The Salary of our ministers is the highest in this world that not even the president of America command a salary as high as ours. The Number one list can still go on & on.

For just such a small nation we are can & we are world number for too many things is indeed an achievement. It is not easy & the efforts & scrafices is alot as well.

We do not have natural resources. We have only human resources to depend on. To survive in a place like singapore you need be a resource in order to survive. Foreign talent is heavily concentrated & focused over here. At times local talents are neglected as a result as well.

 

Personally, I do not like this 21st centry world of today & soceity. Sometimes I do just plainly wonder if life would be better if we are all still living in the world of the ancients but with the knowlede of the 21st century? Study life is definately better than working life. I like my childhood days the most.

In Certain Ways

 In certain ways, Singaporeans are pathetic. Look at our society here! We are one of the ones listed among the top of being as the most highly stressed up nations of the world. Financial survival & living condition expenses is too costly & expensive here. We are all too busy surviving financially everyday to have time for any other things else. As a result of such we are also among the top for being a very lifeless country.  A very realistic way of describing us Singaporeans is that we are all personal slaves to the government & dogs to the company we are all working for.

  We have no life here. Not much of a night life as well. We don’t have time for life, no mood & energy for life as well. There is no such thing as retirement basically to say.  All of us are to work till the very day we die! Only then will we finally retire for good! That is how the environment & society as well as life in Singapore are like, basically to say.

 

Racial Ratio

Talking about ratios here, at the present, the highest according to their order with regards to racial population would be:

1)       Chinese

2)       Malays ( but their population is catching up with the chinese)

3)       Indians

4)       Eurasians

5)       Mix blood & other minority races

 

Gender Ratio

When talking about gender ratio, basically to say out of every 10 person here in Singapore 7 are females & 3 are males. (Singapore is in high shortage of male population & men are in demand in this point of aspects)

When talking about the ratio between the Young & old, well, actually the population of the young ones are not sufficient here. As time to come the ratio of the old will be a lot more than the young ones.  (That is why our Government is trying to increase it with foreigners here. From the way I judge it, as time to come or it might already be of the case now even perhaps, that foreigner population will be more than locals.)

 

Foreigner Vs Local in work force

When talking about the work force ratio it is in actual real fact as follows:

1)       MNC (Multi-National Companies or so call big corporations / International companies) has at least 70% foreigners if not even more working in the company & the remaining are locals & PR(s).

2)       SME (Small – Medium Enterprise or so call small companies & family business companies / local small companies) have at least 60% foreigners working in the company if not more than that & then the remaining will be locals /PR(s).

3)       Semi – Government ( Half Government Half Private) & Government Sectors although they say it is purely only Singaporeans & PR(s) that will be employed, but however the percentage of PR(s) is very high & don’t forget that PR(s) are still not Singaporeans. They still hold a foreign passport it is just that they can stay here permanently as long as they like that is why they are called as PR(s), Permanent Residents.

Foreigners are very cheap to employ. The Salary of one Singaporean is equal to the salary of 3 China People or 2 Malaysians. It means for every salary of one Singaporean you can employ either 3 China People or 2 Malaysians. 

 

Statistic in Marriage & Reproduction

Finally coming to Marriage & Reproduction! It is simply more than too common of the following:

1)       Singapore man strongly prefer to marry foreign wife over local girls

2)       Singapore woman highly prefer foreign man as husband over local man

3)       Most Singapore man get married somewhere around age of 28-30

4)       Most Singapore Girls get married somewhere around age of 26-28

5)       Most couples marry at late age & have children at much later age

6)       Many girls are too career minded & don’t want to get married at all

7)       Most people would stop at their 1^st child & don’t want to reproduce anymore

       Some even don’t want to have children after marriage

9)       Those who have intention to have more children are too tired to reproduce.

Comparing With….

As we are such a competitive country that is able to rival Japan, Hong Kong, & Shanghai, many things are not easy here. Basically to say, our way of working style, mindset, environment, & culture regardless any place that you are working in is all the same, which is MULTI-Tasking! Multi-tasking has even reached to the point of extend that it has even rooted into our daily routine life hood as well too.

Such Kind of culture as far as concern as to my understanding so far, it is not at all practiced in places like Japan, Hong Kong & Shanghai. Their kind of working culture, mindset, environment & style is pretty different from ours.

Here in Singapore life is hectic! Everybody here is too busy working! Basically to say, you cannot afford not to work don’t even bother to talk about 1 year or 1 month, in fact it is one week or for some 1 day even!

It is all about working & earning money no anything else to that! We cannot afford not to work, if we don’t work we have no money & without money it is impossible to survive!

As a result of such, our people are more realistic & practical. Some even tend to be very materialistic & money minded especially for many of our Singapore girls.

Being this way when many of us are so career & money minded, how can marriage & reproduction come into the picture then?

2)       Too materialistic ( particularly the 5C(s) Cash, Car, Credit Card, Career, & Condominium)

3)       Not easily contented

4)       Asking for too much (Want a lot but compromise & sacrifice too little or none even) 

5)       Simply turn/switch the local Man off about them.

6)       Cannot satisfy him at bed ( lousy at bed or didn’t him enough sex)

7)       Not family orientated enough

       Too career minded, too strong, higher salary & position than the man ( lowers his pride & dents his ego)

9)       They have too much say & power! Guys find themselves with too little.

10)   Never give the man enough freedom, face & respect! ( Don’t feel treated like a man enough as well)

 

The Scope & Range of Wives we Marry

As a result of such, it has all along been the case that many Singaporean men marry foreign wives. In the past it first started off purely with just Malaysia & Indonesia.  Then as time goes by the range & scope goes into Philippines & Thailand. However it did not stop just at this, the scope went further up north into Vietnam & then eventually followed by China & India. This scope & range in which our local men go out hunting for wives is just simply constant expanding & increasing.  The demand for foreigners as wives here in Singapore is in actual fact in very high extreme demand!

Men here believe that these girls of foreign lands make a better wife than our locals! That is the perceptions, mindset & believes that most of the man here has. These men at the same time usually always go for younger & prettier girls as wives. Usually Singaporean girls are very & most highly extremely attracted to white man. (Caucasians) In the usual case they will dream & desire for a white man as their husband! They also think that the treatment they will receive is also better than local man from a foreigner. Foreigners to them are much better than locals & can give them a lot of things that locals can never give them.  Foreigners are also believed to be more devoted, romantic, & gentleman than a local as well to them.  They are more manly, handsome, charming, gentle, polite, sexy, hot, & most importantly, they are much more richer than locals.

It is also believed that a foreigner can give them give better sex or a better sexual life than a local man as well. They tend to have greater fantasy of going to bed with a foreigner than with a local. Foreigners can give her better pleasures, excitements, thrills, satisfactions etc….

Many local man to the local Singaporean girls, are not man enough for them & too useless!

It is because of the fact of the cruelties of life; many of us Singaporean will want to choose focus on earning money & climbing up the corporate ladder. As a result of such, it is pretty impractical to marry at a young age. Hence most of us will choose to marry late when we are more stable.

 As to the point about that most couples marry at late age & have children at much later age, it is actually interlinked with the above statement of the average age of marriage by most people.  Some even get married at a much later age that the above average age. Marrying at late age also bring about not being able to have much children & in some cases none at all due to the physical body condition.

Too Career Minded & don’t wanna marry

About this point of many girls are too career minded & don’t want to get married at all, one thing is that many of our girls are a little too smart or perhaps there might be some who are acting smart who knows? How are they going to strike a balance between children & work? Furthermore taking care of children is not easy. That is also one of the many reasons why many couple would get maids, nanny or their parents to help look after the children.

 

Marriage & Career

 Here in Singapore just one person alone working is not enough, furthermore in our society, there is no such thing as retirement! We all work to the very last day of our lives in this world! We work till the day we die. One the day we died, that is indeed actual retirement! Everybody in the family needs to work to survive.

Some of them aim to achieve a lot in their careers & children to them are something that stands in their way.

Even for those who have intention to reproduce more, their daily routine lives simply wears them down & they are just too tired to do some reproduction. No Time, No Energy & No Mood! Even if they have, it will be money not enough to have more children.

Others just simply either that they don’t like children or that they just want to be alone as a couple with a lot of their private moments & time. Having children would mean an end to their world of their own! Having children will have a change in their lives. There will be less privacy & many more & they just don’t want that to happen.

Our Government did try to do many things to improve the situation. They do a lot of advertising over the media to encourage marriage & reproduction. They Government also offer a policy of baby bonus! To simplify what this baby bonus policy is about, it is simply means that we get paid by the government to have sex with our husband/wife to have children. Hopefully

Well hopefully policies will improve the conditions here in terms of marriages & birth rates. The percentage of Singaporeans locally inside of Singapore has to be no matter what more than the foreigners here.

Anyways at least for the time being Singapore will not face the problem of overpopulation yet! Perhaps years later in the future when the current policies are over successful it might happen then.

Another factor will be living condition here whereby people can afford to have more time to have sex & reproduce. With the current standard of living & conditions here, this will be something pretty much impossible! Until the day our lives is a bit more relaxed & affordable can we then have more time & energy as well as mood to have sex & reproduce.

 

Talents

Also, our current government policies over concentrates on foreign talents instead of local talents! Too much of our local talents are gone to waste or buried. Till the day this situation changes will the situation of marriage & birth rate change as well.

 

More Singaporeans

The rate of employment also has the change with lesser foreigners in Singapore & more Singaporeans in the local work force. At the same time, the government should also do more efforts into helping locals to become expatriates in overseas. A pool of market & demand for Singaporeans in the overseas should be created whereby our policy will be targeting into Singaporeans going to overseas to work.

Also, even more should be done to help Singaporeans set up their own business not in Singapore locally but instead in overseas. The future for Singaporeans & the only future for future Singaporeans are no longer inside their own land but instead in the soils of overseas land! This is something I strongly believe in. There will not be of any future to speak of in the years to come for Singaporeans inside of Singapore locally.   

 

Singapore is for basic & Foundation & the rest must be in overseas

Singapore is a good place to built up & establish foundations as well as to gain good education, life exposures, working experiences & social networking. It is only the basics. Anything else further/higher/greater to that, it has only to be overseas to reach to the next level.

 Singapore is defiantly the worst place in this whole world in terms of retirement & to enjoy life!

 

To Encourage or Discourage?

Actually myself I also don’t know should I encourage or discourage that the foreigners just take away our girls? It is pretty confusing, actually. In certain aspects if more Singaporean girls are being taken away by the foreigners it can be good in certain ways.

One thing the girl herself perfects her language skills, becomes a PR of the country of the man she marries to, have a better life there & give us local man here lesser troubles/problems only up to certain sense.

However, seeing others taking away our girls out of our own country also does not reflect well on us local man in certain as well. Is it that we are too lousy & incapable to marry our own local girls or it that our girls are simply such a reject & of little value & worth that we don’t want them at all?

Regarding Singaporean girls all out for foreign man over locals & Singaporean man all out for foreign girls over locals is defiantly right now a trend & it is simply too common now! Is this something good or bad? This is indeed very debatable & subjective.

 

Yes! To Polygamy

If the number of females in Singapore regardless locals or foreigners continues to increase & it is becoming very imbalance between the number of females & males, to strike a balance & to increase the percentage of girls able to have 1 man each, Polygamy have to be implemented & very strongly encouraged.

One of the factors but not completely to adultery, mistresses etc…. is as a result of when polygamy is not being practiced when the ratio of females is too many over the males.

I support marrying of foreign wives

 Myself personally, I am uncertain whether or not to encourage foreigners marry away our local girls. But however, I very strongly encourage the marrying of foreign wives by our local man.

I view it as a good way to contribute to our multi-racial multi-whatsoever bla  bla etc… society of Singapore in certain ways. I should believe that the goodness will be more than bad!

It is a good way of cultural exchange for us Singaporean man & us all making this place truly uniquely Singapore!

In terms of our breed it will make us more mixed which is something good for Singapore actually. We are actually making a very Singaporean race. Furthermore, mix children are better looking & tend to be better than those who are not mixed in certain ways.

 We can get to learn a lot from other nations & reducing on the policy of foreign talents in the future.

It is also a good way to re-reform & change many things in our Singapore society with the marrying of foreign wives.

Perhaps you might even be able to list out more & this section will be very long.

Anyways generally to say, foreigners make a better wife than our local girls. In fact I, myself also do have intentions to marry a foreign wife.

  

Are Singaporeans Contributing enough?      

Off the topic a little bit on other issue. The topic here of Singaporeans not contributing enough in terms of marriage & reproduction is the main topic I am talking about here, but side track a little let us look at other matters then.

During the very early days, yes indeed our forefathers & ancestors contributed a lot! However coming to today, are we still contributing & if we still indeed are, are we then contributing enough?

I should believe from my own person point of view, that to our “beloved government the way they see us, we Singaporeans are definitely not contributing enough!

It is a rather recent wide spread of an email that many people has received of a tsunami prediction that will be coming soon to hit in 2009 of July 22^nd !

This email is basically a forwarded email forwarding across the world i should believe & most people by now should not be finding this email such a stranger or anything new.  The subject title of the email that i had received was : 22nd 2009 another Tsumani

The source is absolutely unknown & the reliability of the information is still a very big question mark. It is as follows below :

I just received this message from a colleague. I don’t know the source of the message; I also don’t know the credibility of the content, but just beware.

Below is the content on the message:

“Hello there. I just wanted 2 let you know that please stay away from the beaches all around in the month of July. There is a prediction that there will be another tsunami hitting on July 22^nd. It is also when there will be sun eclipse. Predicted that it is going 2 be really bad and countries like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Si Lanka, India, Indonesia, Philippines are going 2 be badly hit. Please try and stay away from the beaches in July. Better 2 be safe than sorry. Please pass the word around. Please also pray for all beings.”

Analyzing The Photo

Looking at the photo, well, Singapore does not seem to be in the rage to me. It does instead seem to me that  the Philippines, Japan ,Taiwan & perhaps Korea will be very badly hit !

Well according to this email it not just gave you the date but also the time as well.   In Full it is on a Wednesday July 22^nd 2009 between the time of 3pm to 7pm (1500hrs – 1900hrs).

Well, i am not really into science & so on hence i cannot really comment much also. Just that i would say i am very doubtful on this information. Should it be true it should be on the headline & something that many governments of many countries will be discussing about & doing something about it before it comes. But why is it that there is nothing from the government?

It will not make sense that this person can know it & nobody in the government is aware of this coming disaster? The government definately has better man of talents who can predict this before even some fellow from don’t where by don’t what means predicts it.

Or is that another possibility that the government already knows but do not want to alarm the people? But this fellow somehow spoil everything & go around creating panic & alarm to people?

There is Indo-China (Laos,Cambodia & Vietnam), Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, & especially indonesia who are acting as the shield for singapore. Any natural disaster to come, they will be the first to get it but for the natural disastrer  to reach singapore, it is as good as impossible !

It is only unless that these shields or so called barricades or fortifications of ours are gone would it then be possible for singapore to be hit ! In such event to come when we get hit under such suitation, i should guess that we will all go sunk under the sea & can really say hello to the South sea dragon king ! (南海龙王 )haha !

Questions To Be Asked

There are alot of Questions to be asked , based on this article !
However the most critical point of concern & issue to really ask would be : What is really becoming of our young generations?

There are people who deemed her to be loose & low self esteem, & perhaps who knows? there might be people who find it very okay & instead think on the other way round that those who think the otherwise are so old fashion or something like that!

One thing that will never change is that generations who were of their age that time & the current generation of that age this time are different  & will forever be different ! it can never ever be the same!

When we were all of that age, didn’t we too also think that others don’t understand us, don’t know us, old fashioned, stuck in the mud & all the bla bla etc……?

This is the exact same thing that will always surface & repeat itself constantly. It is a cycle. It exists for all generations & era ! it simple never changes !

When things like this were to happen, we cannot simple point our fingers to them & that’s it ! end of story & talk !
NO ! That is not the way !

They are still young, inexperienced, imatured, ignorant, somewhat innocent, somehow still childish, stll unaware of many things & sort of rash, hot headed  & foolish as wellas still in need of protection.
Hence it will not be correct to all the point fingers at this teenage brats over every single thing for all things.

Being of thier age is called as a dangerous age. To become good or bad really starts from there & of that age they need the most guildance & discipline!
They are most easily swayed & influenced. Especially by peers! Hence the company of people they are mixing with at this point of their age is of most grave importance.

Factors

To simplify everything, what becomes of the next generation fall on a few things which are:
1) What sort of society & environment they are living in ?
2) What sort of influences & exposures are they having ?
3) What sort of up bringging are we giving/porviding them ?
4) What sort of education are we educatating them of ?

These are the primary factors that explains to what sort of future generation we will have. To have what sort of future young generations of tomorrow will greately depend on what are the answers to the 4 earlier mentioned questions

East Vs West, East & West

Another question of big concern will also be that Singapore as an Asian country in the Asian continent, What is really happenning to our Asian Values? where have all our Asian values went to? How is it that we are loosing our Asian values?

We are not any European, or of any white man/ Caucasian nations in which the impression of the people are commonly known to very loose in values to many people. As to if that is really the case that will be another question to look into seperately. 

One thing we all need to understand which is no matter how westernize or whatsoever ever a person can be, he/she is still an Asian after all in the end ! How much & far can a personal really be westernize? The roots & origins is something that never ever changes.

Another thing we must all know is that Singapore is itself a very westernize nation ! Generally to say our people are all pretty westernize people on the overall scale regardless of race & so on.
Singapore is the middle & the center point of the 2 sides of the word ! from East to west & From West to east ! It is here in Singapore where the 2 come together.
Next, Singapore has been colonize by the British for over more than 100 years. The western elements & influence is extrememly strong here !
following next will be that despite that our national language is malay, however, we have been all unified under the language of English !

Ever since after our British masters has left us behind & after we have broken away from malaysia & after our independence, Singapore has close relationship with the west ! we have all along been learnning many things from the west & much of the westerners have been invited to help us in the developing of our nation. This even further streghtened the Western influences & elements in Singapore making us further most even westernize.

We have also been much into westn culture & other matters in many ways too! we all watch many American movies, dramas & cartoons. We play many American computer games & other games.

The west has always seem to leave a very good impression to many of us that they are stronger & better than Asians all this period of time.

We always admire the west people & alway like to have the chance to visit the west nations & more than happy if we have western friends or if we are able to work in a western company.

Singaporeans up to present still cannot shake off the image , fact & fantasy that the West are not our masters ! We still see them as out masters somehow or rather subconciously.

Many of us want & like to be like the west !

We should instead reduce the elements & influences of the west in Singapore. Raise the influneces & elements of the East ! At least in any worst scenerio let there be a balance in the element/influence of the west & East ! none of each side should be more that the other. Make the both well balance! That is the least thing to do.

We have to raise the issue & concern to make the local feel proud of their asian heritage & origins. Feel honored & proud to be an Asian ! instill the mindset to the people of making Asia as a whole continent Pride, Honor, Glory & most of all Proud ! Work & move towards that it is something prestigeous to be an Asian !
We ASians ought to be United !

Values , Education & Up bringging

Our Education should be instilling & focusing/concentrating into the teaching of Asian values & Increasing all thing Asia to our young generations while they are still in kidergarden, primary & secondary !

More promotions by more organisations should be done to promote our Asian cultures, traditions etc….

More programes & etc… should be done by the media & press on our Asian everything !

Lastly & most importantly our Government should do more to make Singapore More Asian than westernized

Alot of confucianism thoughts ought to be taught to the young generation from as young as they can begin with.

But even when & if everything has been done, how & what it is into the up bringging of a child in a family is still most important. Parent should bring up their child well.

on the Overall scale, the culture & Asian values elements in Singapore & singaporeans is considerbly very low indeed !

We are not really into of a country on culture but instead into modernization , Technology, Research & development. As we are strongly focusing on all these things & becoming strong in them, we are also on the other hand becoming weak in terms of culture & values.

It is very difficult to have a balance of everything! Our government did right thing at that point of time as per proven by time & history ! should our focus back then be on culture & values, we are still today a very terribly backwards & under developed nation !

But now that we are already so modernize, developed & so on, should we not go back & focus on culture & values before suitation gets worst beyond salvation in the near future?

We cannot change or stop the difference between the Generation X , Y or even Z ! But we can however change on what sort of Generation X, Y or even Z are we producing !

Concernning Her

Based on the article, what I can say is that to her it is something of a norm or something very typically common among people of her generation around her. There is nothing to make a big fuss over it.

Perhaps her peers & her environment as well as exposures etc….. are also somewhat similiar or worst & perhaps to her she is not the worst case as compared to others whom she might know of that might be more extreme than what we can imagine or know of.
What i can say of her is that she is loosing in her Asian values & view too little of her chasity. But ! the fault / blame may not neccessary be entirely 100% on her !

She will need much re-tunning & counselling of her mindset & perspective of many things by many people should we not want her to sink futher deeper.

Polygamy in ASIA

On the overall, Polygamy is being praticed all along during the ancient days & mostly, mainly , especially in particularly in ASIA in which Polygamy pratices is very & absolutely most exggerating.

Taking China for an example, the following figures is fully based on my own personal estimation from my limited knowledge of the old days. The below is on how many wives a man will have. (figures may not be very accurate & it does not refer to the case each & every man’s suitation is like this. It can varies as an individual.)

Usually a commoner will have only 1 wive, But if he is a village chief or some wealthy commoner in the town/city, at the minium he will have 2 wives
Merchants, & Traders can have quite alot but at their minium I should believe it is at least 3 that they have.

As for the officials, officials at the bottom to moderate level at their minium may have at least 5 if not 7 wives. As the Officials & Ministers who are high ranking & who are above the moderate level, at their minium I should believe it is at least near or around 10 wives.

As to the nobles, imperialist, royals & especially in particularly the Emperor of China, It has usually very commonly said that the Chinese Emperors typically have 3000 (Three Thousands) wives & this number is just an average number only.

As to the personnels in the Military especially the generals & commanders, it will be too difficult to estimate. some can also be alot  & some too little or even none at all.

Not just in China is Polygamy being praticed but also as well as in Japan, Korea, Mongolia Especially, India, the Middle east nations, Myanma(Burma), Siam(Thailand), Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia etc…

It is very typical & common that most people will usually link Polygamy to Aisa & especially in particularly, China as polygamy is most exggeratingly praticed in China ! In the West ! the pratice is not as common & not as exggerating!
Even in the Continent of Africa, it is also being praticed there since the ancient times & it is something very typical & common too as well. However little is being known about polygamy in the African continent.

During those ancient days & age of cave man, such pratices of polygamy is simply too normal & common through out the world espcially for those tribesman & natives as well. Not too sure about the aborigines but perhaps it was too something that they pratice as well & if it is true I would not find it suprising anyways.

You can also have polygamy to be generally linked up as part of the culture, & tradtion of ASIA. Polygamy can be said to be a heritage of Asians in certain aspects.

Econimics Conclusion

Basically to say from the Economics of Polygamy, some would suggest that it as negative as it will be very expensive to support so many wives but others said the vice versa way as it will contribute to more sources of income & revenue as more people in the family in earning money.

Some also said that having more wives will resut in high increase in the quantity of children but not quality, but however not all agree to it as well.
On the overall whole, it is rather subjective & debative to this topic on if it will be economical to have many wives. Hence, depending on the suitation & the scenerios of the individuals variations I would say it is something neutral. But numbers are however higher on the negative side that it is uneconomical.
Although I am a supporter of Polygamy, however polygamy is not for everyone or anyone & anyhow. This is also part of my conclusion.

Basically to say, it is legal is all Muslim countries around the world & very recently, the west in which it will be USA ( America) that we will be refering to that is gradually accepting it & legalizing it , become a now a new trend.

After Having reading through, what is your opinion now? Any conclusion so far? Bascially to say, on my part, I agree to polygamy as :
1) Inbalance Ratio of the genders
On the overall, females youth is limited & they have a longer lifespan as well as that the ratio of females in the whole world is more than that of males. Now let’s make things more simplified & easier to understand. Imagine this scenerio, If there are only 100 woman in this world & 50 man in this world & that each man marries one woman, what would then happen to the remainning 50 womans? Instead, if each of the 50 man took 2 wives each, the ratio will be very much balace. No one is being left out.
Next, Also due to such inbalance ratio, what will happen to those that is being left out? that is beascially one of the several reasons of how you explain one night stand, adultary, extra matarial affaris, mistresses & many more due to this inbalance ratio as one of the contributing factor.
Also at the same time another one of the results will be that they will become into as Monk, Nuns, Priest, Priestress etc…….

2) The House duties is being shared.
Instead of one woman doing all the housework & duties, with more wives, it is evenly distributed & there is better efficiency. Finishing the housework earlier & effectively, There can then be more time for other things. The employment of maids or nanny can also be saved up. some can stay at home & some can go out to work. In this way it might be perhaps cost saving & economical.

3) More Say of the Woman in the household
With more woman in the household, the Woman can end up having a bigger & stronger say in the household as they are the majority now. The husband will have to give in more in certain aspects.

4) Lesser chance of being cuckold
In the most typical & common case that we know of, the woman felt lonely & that is the start to many cuckold cases. Now, in the case of multiple wives, she has companionship of your other wives to look over her & accompany her till your return. Should one misbehave, there are others to maintain the discipline etc… You can be working at ease knowing that your home is well taken care off also in another way

5) Harder for the man to source for new woman
When having multiple wives, chances are lesser for the guy to misbehave outside when he has enough woman to satisfy them & committment to them. There are more eyes to watch over the man in way to prevent him from misbehaving in certain aspects.

6) Better protection for woman
Be it the scenerio of wife beater or wife abuser & the wife suffer alone in slience in the typical usual case, having more woman can help out whereby they can protect one another as they are all woman after all. Also in cases where the husband is not around, having more wives at home can help in protection & looking after each other should there be any danger around that occur in the absence of the husband.

7) More Children
Giving birth the children can be distributed & shared among the woman instead of all falling onto one.
Not neccessary everyone need to work
Instead of the common case in which both the husband & wife need to work, in the scenerio of multiple wives, the family income can be more & or not neccessary it is required for everyone in the household to work.

9) More Harmony
there will be times couples can have arguements. It such scenerio, there will be more people involved to stop the argument/ quarrel & more people in the maintainning of the peace keep harmony of the family.

10) More personal & praviate time for everyone
Not just for the Man but the woman as well! Everyone will get to have more personal time for themselves each to do what they want or like in a way. Since much things is evenly distributed, the time for them ownself an an individual can also be more in a way too.

11) The Beauty of the Woman can last longer
In many cases, woman spend too much taking care of the house & husband that they age faster & become less beautiful faster as well. In the case, where everything is shared & distributed, they will be less shagged & hagged & tired. Hence this way able to keep their youth lasting longer & more time to maintain their beauty.

12) Possibility of Lower expenditure
Your Wife may not need to buy so much clothes or cosmatics or accessories or jewelaries. SOme of the things can be shared among themselves.

13) Longer lasting Romance & athmospere
Guys tend to have a larger, Broader, Wider, & bigger heart by his nature. Having more wives, the romance & love in the family can also be more lasting & longer than instead of one in which most common cases that we know of, either the lady or the man got bored & tired of each other & everything slowlys starts to died down & become very numb.

Hence, I would then say that the statment made by confucius who is reknown in history as a sage in which this sage said that ” A Man Must Have His Ultimate Good Reason Of His Own “,Personally, I agree very much with this statement.

A person should never marry more woman with the mindset of gains be it in terms of power, wealth, or/and influences etc……….!
He should not marry due to sexual lusty needs & desires as well so as to satisfy his dick !

A man should also marry more woman just because he is of high status, influencial, powerful, wealthy etc……. & then depriving other man to marry. He should not bully or force or of anysort just because of his status.

It has to be pure, True & sincere in his love & feelings towards the girl & everything happen very naturally in the event of more woman entering. By what i meant of naturally, it refers that he was not cheating or deliberatly fall in love with more woman. It is all by & only natual that love was developed with the other woman, with no one purposely making it happen. He has to sure he also has the means, ability & capacity for more wives as well too before marrying her.

Things that he will need to make sure of will be more, before a new family member enters. Also, it will be but correct that his first wife not only just acknowledges a new family member but that he also seeks the understanding from his wife on this matter & that his first wife is willing the accept this new family member as a form of respect to his first wife.

From my own personal point of opinion, I would urge the acceptance of polygamy. In the first place it is correct ! It is a tradition & culture! It is also a Heritage since history & going down the line of the family ancestry.
It is even further supported by RELIGIONS that it is correct according to religions as well. If the Gods & Deties also approve to it , why is the humans going agaisnt it?  Are the Humans trying to question the heavens & put them to a trail?

On the over scale, it may not neccessary does harm to society or is of any bad thing as well to our world it just might perhaps be instead contributing & benificial ! who knows? It is very hard to say actually.

From the articles of the above links, Basically to say, it suggested that there is nothing immorale about Polygamy, but instead in terms of Social society, it is very benificial to society on the overall scale.

In the society of Singapore, our birth rate are simply too low. The ratio of woman in singapore is more than man. it is an approximation of 7 girls : 3 boys out of every 10. Monogamy does not do the society good in a way.

Marriage between locals are gradually becoming less common among the young generations especially.

Perhaps man in singapore are on the general whole very sexually unsatisfied people. At many times they don’t have time or energy for sex due to stress etc.. But however at the same time, they also don have enough sex & that perhaps wives in singapore cannot satify them sexually particularly especially if his wife is a singaporean.
